Photos: Chris Brown Stunned By Lagos House
This is not the first time that foreign superstars will be breath taken by the luxurious and flamboyant lifestyle of their Nigerian hosts – some couple years ago, England defender, Rio Ferdinand, in an interview was quoted as saying he was ‘surprised’ at the display of affluence in a house he visited while in the country even amidst want.
This time around, Chris Brown is the ‘victim’, as he was apparently awed by the size of the undisclosed Lagos home he was lodged in while in the country for a weekend concert. So stunned by the size of the house that he posted on Instagram a few shots with the caption, ‘This house I’m at in Nigeria is big as f**k!.
The American R & B singer thrilled Lagosians Saturday night at the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.

Iman Impregnates Friend’s Wife After Friend Suffered A Stroke
A 65-year-old Mutare man is accusing his Muslim clergy (Sheikh) of being responsible for his second wife’s pregnancy after a long illicit affair between the two.
Cabo Juma, a Muslim devotee of Mozambican origin who suffered a stroke in 2006, bitterly complained that the sheikh, Nordine Banda of the church’s Dangamvura parish in Mutare has been in love with his wife, Jessica Chiweshe, for a long time and his efforts to seek redress within the church yielded nothing.
Juma said the affair led to the irreparable damage to his matrimonial relationship. Apparently, the two (Sheikh Banda and Juma) were very close friends at one time.
When contacted for comment, both his wife and Sheikh Banda dismissed the allegations.
“I really do not want to comment much on the issue and I think the chairman of the church is the one who can give you a comprehensive comment. I will not say much about the prevailing situation because I know the truth will soon be out. They are saying I impregnated her, but I know I am innocent. His aim is to have me removed from this place or else get me fired from the church, but all along I thought it will not get this far,” said Sheikh Banda.
In a separate interview, the woman in the centre of the storm, Jessica Chiweshe, doubted her husband’s mental stability.
“These allegations are a mere smokescreen meant to conceal the real issue at play. It has all to do with the politics in the church whereby at one point some people did not want the pastor while others stood by him. I happened to belong to the faction that supported the pastor. This is where it all started and later, my husband became so abusive to the extent that I sought refuge at the pastor’s place and that fuelled suspicion that I was going out with the pastor, but that was not true. In any case, if you managed to talk to Cabo Juma, do you think he is mentally stable? Since he suffered a stroke in 2006 he has not been the normal man I knew all along. I think the only thing that I have to do is to go to court and get a peace order against this man,” said Jessica before she declined to answer more questions.
When the Dangamvura Islamic Society chairman, Juma Yard, was reached for comment, he said:
“I am the chairman and have the powers to fire the pastor if he is wrong. If he is guilty of sleeping with anyone’s wife then he should be fired, but the problem is that we do not have any evidence to support the allegations. According to the Islamic law (the Shariah law), there is supposed to be convincing evidence for action to be taken against the perpetrator, but in this case there is no evidence,” he said.
However, in wide ranging interview last week, Juma, who is hardly fluent in Shona, maintained that the pastor and his wife were in love.
“I am deeply hurt that my sheikh, who also happened to be my friend at one point, could do this to me. It all started as rumours way back and I did not want to believe it. I started hearing about it when I was in hospital after I suffered a stroke. At times I would hear that the pastor visited my place without my knowledge and it appears he would take advantage of his knowledge on my whereabouts. He would invite my wife every Saturday to do the cooking at church unlike other women who were NOT invited personally.
“For example, on 27 March this year, when this issue became known, I lied to him that I was leaving for Sakubva, Devonshire where my first wife stays. He came to my second wife’s place, right at our bedroom window around 10.30pm and called my wife while disguising his voice. I pretended as if I was asleep and my wife (Jessica) abruptly woke up, almost unclad and went straight to open the door for him. She must have given signs that I was around, but I was already angry about the whole thing and I told them right away that I didn’t want to see the pastor again at my place.
“I also immediately banned my wife from going to Mozambique and Harare for business trips because that is where they would occasionally accompany each other. I know the pastor could be one responsible for Jessica’s current pregnancy since I am not the one. I’m no longer interested in her,” he said

Man Breaks Out Of Prison On Tuesday, Only To Be Recaptured On Friday
One of two bank robbers who escaped during the week from a high-rise jail in downtown Chicago by rappelling to the street using a makeshift rope and hailing a cab to get away were on Friday captured, FBI says.
37-year-old Joseph Jose Banks was taken into custody without incident late on Thursday night in an apartment complex on the city’s north side, said FBI spokeswoman Joan Hyde.
Banks appeared subdued during his brief appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Sidney Schenkier on Friday. Banks was shackled at the hands and legs and dressed in an orange jump suit like the one he was wearing when he staged the daring escape with his cell mate early Tuesday morning.
He is charged with escape from federal custody.
Banks waived his right to a detention hearing. He will be put in solitary confinement at the Metropolitan Correctional Center from which he escaped, according to Beau Brindley, Banks’ attorney.
Banks and his cell mate, Kenneth Conley, escaped from the MCC early on Tuesday morning. The pair apparently broke a window in the cell they shared, squeezed through the opening and lowered themselves nearly 20 stories to the street, authorities said.
They made their rope from bed sheets and dental floss, according to local media reports.
The FBI said that, based on videotape evidence, agents believe the pair hailed a taxi a few blocks from the jail after making their escape.
Banks was convicted of armed robbery this month, and Conley pleaded guilty to bank robbery in October. Both men were set to be sentenced early next year.
According to a federal affidavit, Banks and Conley were present during a physical head count at the jail at 10 p.m. Monday, but jail employees arriving for work Tuesday morning saw what appeared to be a rope hanging from a window on the south side of the building. When a physical head count was conducted inside the facility, both Banks and Conley were gone.
Escape carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine

Lightning Burns 4 Family Members Beyond Recognition While Eating Supper
A rather strange and mysterious lightning bolt has killed four members of a family when it struck them as they were having dinner at their home last week.
The victims, Mrs Ellen Mudimu (51), her daughter, Linda Mpofu (23), and two grandchildren, according to Midlands police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Leonard Chabata, were burnt beyond recognition.
He said the bolt also hurled Ellen’s husband, Tafadzwa, and their daughter, Deflate, out of the hut, leaving them with minor burns.
“I can confirm that the four family members were burnt beyond recognition while two others escaped,” said Asst Insp Chabata.
Tafadzwa who was still in shock said, “It is like I was dreaming. All I remember is being carried outside as the bolt struck”.
Mr Perence Ngwenya – a relative of the deceased – said burial was conducted swiftly the following morning as fellow villagers feared the bolt would strike again.
“We had to bury them without coffins early in the morning. Many people were afraid they would also be struck by the bolt. Some people believe a lightning bolt will always strike the same place a second time,” said Mr Ngwenya.

He explained that in 2010, only 24.16 per cent passed just as 36.07 percent passed in 2011.
Eguridu disclosed that cases of examination malpractices were being investigated, pointing out that the reports of the investigation would will be presented to the Nigeria Examination Committee, NEC, for consideration and final decision would be communicated to the affected candidates through WAEC zonal and branch offices across the country.
His words, “A total number of 49 blind candidates registered for the examination. Out of this figure, 23 candidates, representing 46.93 per cent obtained credits in five subjects including English Language.
A total of 413,266 candidates registered for the examination, out of which 396,614 candidates consisting of 216,600 male and 180,014 female candidates sat for the examination. Out of the total number of candidates that registered, 406,108 candidates representing 98.27 percent have their results fully processed, while 7,158 candidates representing 1.73 per cent have a few of their subjects still being processed as various errors and omissions mostly traceable to candidates are being sorted out by the Council.’’ He said these errors were committed during registration and the actual conduct of the examination.
He added, “Out of 161,706 candidates that sat for the examination, 40.77 per cent obtained six credits and above. Candidates are expected to visit the council’s website for their results, even as Eguridu lamented the dearth of qualified teachers, inadequate and dilapidated classrooms and appealed to the federal, state government as well as other school proprietors to address these challenges. He also urged the Ministry of Education to ensure that only schools with the necessary facilities to function as schools will be duly registered.

Cristiano Ronaldo Quit Real Madrid Unless Treated Like Messi

Cristiano Ronaldo still intends to leave the Bernabeu in
the summer unless he gets the full Messi treatment.
Lionel Messi signed a new contract extension
this week that will keep him at Barcelona until 2018, beyond his 31st
birthday.
The deal is expected to be structured so that it increases yearly,
rising to £12.5million (net) a year before bonuses.
But according to Spanish
newspaper Marca, Ronaldo still feels angry with the club and upset, believing he
deserves the special treatment of superstars like Lionel Messi.
While Messi
has renewed his contract six times during his spell at Barcelona, Ronaldo has
not been offered an improved deal since his £80m move from Old Trafford in
2009.
The Portuguese winger was offered – and signed – multiple improved
deals during his time under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Although Ronaldo has scored an
amazing 170 goals in 169 games for Real, it is Messi who has stolen the plaudits
this year.
The 25-year-old had already surpassed Gerd Muller’s 40-year-old
record of 85 goals in a calendar year. The pair are both in contention for the
FIFA Ballon d’Or crown, alongside Messi’s team-mate at Barcelona Andres Iniesta

Osun State Finalizes Plan To Send 50 Graduates To Germany
The State of Osun, southwest Nigeria has concluded plans to send no fewer than 50 graduates who are beneficiaries of the state’s Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) to Germany where they will acquire skills and knowledge on mechanized farming for 18 months.
This piece of news was disclosed on Thursday in Osogbo, the state capital by Mr. Eniibukun Oyewole who is the coordinator of the scheme.
Oyewole who said the gesture was aimed at empowering the youths to practice mechanised farming, said that the overseas training was to motivate and encourage youths in the practice of agriculture that was fast becoming unpopular.
“The beneficiaries will be able to train other youths when they return and put into practice farming skills that will boost food production in the state and the country at large,” he stated.
On the selection of the participants, Oyewole stated that only degree and HND holders in agriculture-related courses were selected for the training.
He also added that the move among others, was aimed at reducing unemployment related crimes in the state. “The present administration in the state is working toward empowering every youth in all the nook and crannies of the state so that the society will be free of social vices associated with unemployment,” he noted.
Oyewole said preparations for the take off of the beneficiaries to Germany had been concluded while the training would commence in early 2013.

Ghost Of Grandfather Appears At Granddaughter Christening Ceremony (PHOTOS)
grandmother was left astonished after a photo posted on Facebook from her granddaughter’s christening appeared to show the ghost of her late husband.

When Heather Sewell, 50, first saw the picture she immediately spotted the apparition, bearing a striking resemblance to her late husband Terry.
The black and white face can be seen above the church font hovering over baby Mia-Bella Kennett and the rest of the family.

The black and white face can be seen above the church font hovering over baby Mia-Bella Kennett and the rest of the family.
The bizarre image was caught on camera at St Martin’s Church, Canterbury, Kent by Mrs Sewell’s son Jamie, 29, on his mobile phone.
It was only when the grandmother-of-two was looking through the photos online later that she spotted the familiar face beside the family.
Mrs Sewell, from Petham, Kent, said she could not believe the likeness to her late husband.
Terry Sewell, who worked as a labourer, died 17 years ago after committing suicide aged 41.
Mrs Sewell, who works as a taxi driver, said it was ‘upsetting’ to see her husband’s face.
She said: ‘ I tried to convince myself
that it was not Terry – but it is so convincing that I believe it is.
‘Terry had a long face and so does the ghost and it has the same hair style as Terry had.
‘The ghost is also the same height as Terry was – about 5ft 8in.
‘I am quite a superstitious person, but I am not over-the-top.
‘I do believe there is something out there – there are too many things in the world we cannot explain.’
She added: ‘I was so shocked when I saw it, as we all were.
‘It looks very much like Terry. I know there has been no photo trickery so it is all very spooky and perhaps not what you want to see at a christening.
‘I was in the pub afterwards when I first saw the Facebook page and everyone was stunned because it’s so clear.’
St Martin’s is the oldest church in the country that is still in use for religious services, but a ghostly encounter has never been reported previously at the church.
Heather’s daughter Gemma Sewell, 27, and her partner Jamie were joined by their older daughter Jaiden, 5, and two sets of godparents for Mia-Bella Kennett’s Christening

Iyanya speaks on Yvonne Nelson & Tonto Dikeh
2012 ,was without a doubt Iyanya's year. One of
his songs, 'Kukere', became an instant hit, ruling the airwaves for a long time
and swelling his fanbase.
Recently, Iyanya, has been romantically linked with actresses Tonto Dikeh and
Yvonne Nelson. In an interview with Hiphop World Magazine, he clears the air on
this and also talks about his upcoming album.
Full Interview:
HHW: You recently broke a record. Was it an African record, world record? Tell us about it Iyanya: The caller tunes record was for Africa. First artist to reach 3million caller tunes downloads. I'm thankful to God, to the fans. You know you can do a whole lot with N50, even if it's to buy pure water, it's something. But 3million people downloaded my song and I really appreciate it, I'm thankful. HHW: When you recorded the song did you see all this coming? Iyanya: I didn't see it man. I didn't see close to 5million YouTube hits. There's a whole lot of things that people don't know yet that they will know about 'Kukere'. It's unfolding by the day. I didn't see it. When I recorded that song, I had a grand in my pocket and I was screaming 'I get money oooh'. So it's just a blessing. HHW: And we heard Mtech brought a cheque to you. Do you want to share? Iyanya: No I can't do that. I got a cheque though. Big ups to M-tech. HHW: So the whole issue of Yvone Nelson, Iyanya, Tonto Dikeh and probably a Tiwa Savage in the mix Iyanya: Whaaat! HHW: You heard, you saw the tweets? Iyanya: Yeah I saw the tweets. First of all I need people to understand that blogs will write they have to write so they can get hits. There's a price to pay for fame. People have access to you, they can say anything about you. But I just want people to know, before they say a word, do not forget that I have not said anything. I have not told you that I'm dating A or dating B. On this interview, I repeat that I am a single guy married to my music and my hustle. I'm too young for all that, I'm just young and getting it right now. I remember very well that I made it clear that I'm friends with these mentioned people. I am not dating anybody, and I am not dating anybody as we speak. If you check my tweets, my TL, you'll see that I refused to say anything about it o reply. I appreciate all the love that I get, but I just want to say something, most of the things that you see on Twitter, Facebook, that you check on blogs and all that. Sometimes, it's just buzz. HHW: Iyanya Versus Desire. We've gotten four singles already. 'Flavour' the latest one. Iyanya: And I'm dropping one more, by January. Flavour video is out next week. It was shot and directed by Moe Musa in London, and then IVD drops February HHW: Why that title? Iyanya Versus Desire Iyanya: You know how it all started. When I was in Calabar back then, I started as Desire. Even till now, they don't say Iyanya, they say Desire. Desire was the soul, love truly, inlove guy and I realised that till now, people still love that guy, they still love Desire. So my album is a combination of the old me which is like the real me and the Iyanya, the 'Kukere' guy that you guys have made me, because 'Kukere' was not me. Everybody knows I am a soul singer but because of the fact that as an artiste you have to be versatile, you have to read your environment, study it. Which by God's grace myself, my team and a few people around me were able to study for about four years and I just tried 'Kukere'. IVD is just Iyanya, Desire. R&B, Pop. Iyanya is a musician that's a hustler. Desire is the guy that says how he feels. That's the whole idea. So when you get my album you don't say, this guy should have just sang now or this guy should have just been giving us dancing. You can say I wanna listen to R&B and I wanna listen to pop. HHW: Do you have any other thing you'd like to share? Iyanya: Nothing else man. Just to say, i love my fans. Without my fans, this would not be possible. I remember about two years ago when I had just about 5, 000 followers on twitter. Among those 5, 000 some were telling me, Iyanya why don't you just change something, people love you as a singer, why don't you try something else. Among that 5, 000 I had followers telling me Iyanya, I believe in you. I know you can be a bigger brand. And those people that when I said I wanna be on your show, they were like, what you gonna sing. People don't wanna sleep. Those people made me today and I just wanna say bigups up to you, thank you.
