A rather strange and mysterious lightning bolt has killed four members of a family when it struck them as they were having dinner at their home last week.

The victims, Mrs Ellen Mudimu (51), her daughter, Linda Mpofu (23), and two grandchildren, according to Midlands police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Leonard Chabata, were burnt beyond recognition.
He said the bolt also hurled Ellen’s husband, Tafadzwa, and their daughter, Deflate, out of the hut, leaving them with minor burns.
“I can confirm that the four family members were burnt beyond recognition while two others escaped,” said Asst Insp Chabata.
Tafadzwa who was still in shock said, “It is like I was dreaming. All I remember is being carried outside as the bolt struck”.
Mr Perence Ngwenya – a relative of the deceased – said burial was conducted swiftly the following morning as fellow villagers feared the bolt would strike again.
“We had to bury them without coffins early in the morning. Many people were afraid they would also be struck by the bolt. Some people believe a lightning bolt will always strike the same place a second time,” said Mr Ngwenya.
