Muslim Worshippers Escape Death As Hand Grenade Thrown Into Mosque Refuses To Detonate

Pandemonium broke in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State on Friday, when some group of people fired a 36-hand grenade into a Mosque where some Muslim faithful were observing prayers.

The incident occurred at about 8:30 pm, when the worshippers numbering about 10 were about rounding off their prayers.

Confirming the incident, the Media and Information Officer of the Special Task Force (STF), Captain Salisu Mustapha, in a statement, said that the attempt to bomb the mosque located along Bukuru express way in Jos South Local Government Area was frustrated.

According to the STF Media Officer’s statement, the miscreants threw a 36-hand grenade into the mosque but the explosive failed to detonate and thereafter fired shots into the air to aid their escape, adding that no arrest had been made.
