The story of the 2 Russian brothers suspected in the Boston bombings

Two Russians bothers, 26 year old Tamerlan and 19 year old Dzhokhar, a second-year medical student in the U.S, are suspected to be behind the Boston Marathon bombings. Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police last night, Dzhokhar is being intensely pursued. Below is their story...

From Boston Associated Press
In May of 2011, Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev (pictured above and below right), then a senior at a prestigious high school, was awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the city of Cambridge, Mass., to pursue higher education. Now, Tsarnaev is on the run, described as "armed and dangerous" and suspected of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Two brothers, one now dead, one alive and at large. After hours of only grainy images of two men in baseball caps to go on, a portrait gradually started emerging Friday of the men suspected in the attack.
Tsarnaev, 19, and his older brother, Tamerlan, who was killed during a violent night in Cambridge, had been living together on Norfolk Street in Cambridge. An uncle, Ruslan Tsarni of Montgomery Village, Md., told The Associated Press that the men lived together near Boston and have been in the United States for about a decade. They came from the Russian region near Chechnya, which has been plagued by an Islamic insurgency stemming from separatist wars.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's page on the Russian social networking site Vkontakte says he attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, graduating in 2011, the year he won the scholarship, which was celebrated with a reception at City Hall, according to a news release issued at the time. Before moving to the United States, he attended School No. 1 in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim republic in Russia's North Caucasus that has become an epicenter of the Islamic insurgency that spilled over from Chechnya. On the site, he describes himself as speaking Chechen as well as English and Russian. His world view is described as "Islam" and he says his personal goal is "career and money."

Tsarnaev appeared in the video released by authorities on Thursday, identified as Suspect Number 2, striding down a sidewalk, unnoticed by spectators who were absorbed in the race. He followed Tamerlan by about 10 feet. He wore what appeared to be a gray hoodie under a dark jacket and pants, and a white baseball cap facing backward and pulled down haphazardly.

Tamerlan was stockier, in khaki pants, a light T-shirt, and a dark jacket. The brim of his baseball cap faced forward, and he may have been wearing sunglasses.

According to the website spotcrime.com, Tamerlan was arrested for domestic violence in July 2009, after assaulting his girlfriend.

He was an amateur boxer, listed as a competitor in a National Golden Gloves competition in 2009.

14-Year-Old Nigerian Launches Social Networking Website

A 14 year-old boy, Terkura Unongo, has launched a website, www.theimongo.com, for social networking. Though the website might not be as sophisticated as the likes of Facebook, seems as a good invention coming from a young Nigerian.
terkura-360x315[1]
The early exposure that Terkura, an eighth Grade Student of Hillcrest Middle School, Jos, Plateau State, had to the Internet seems to have paid off.
His parents gave him the support to explore his talents in the digital world, and provided him with gadgets. As a result of this he opened his first e-mail address at eight, joined Facebook two years after and other popular social networks in quick succession.
Apart from the fact that his parents gave him the support to explore his talents in the digital world, his computer science teacher also inspired him.
Terkura, who hails from Benue State, says, “Well, I think I became IT-savvy right from the day I started using a computer, as my parents provided the atmosphere for me to acquire various computer devices. But my potentials got sharpened in 2011 when my computer teacher basically showed me the fun in HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language).
“It was during a class where we were told to make a website based on any topic of our choice, he taught the class the basics, e.g. images, colours, fonts, etc. of the language and I was challenged to go on and further my knowledge on the language.”
He explains that after being fascinated by the workings of various social networks, coupled with the knowledge of programming languages he had acquired, he felt he could also make a difference by starting a social network of his own.
According to him, the name, “Imongo”, is taken from the Tiv native dialect which simply means, “Gathering,” He explains that he picked the name because he feels it really described his main objective of connecting people to enable them to meet one another, keep in touch with those they already know, and make new friends at the same time staying entertained and informed.
He adds that he was fascinated by what he could do with HTML so he immediately decided to learn Cascading Style Script and other languages, including JavaScript, Java, and VB. He created various websites for school projects, and for fun though never published them.
“I felt I could do something positive, and then I decided to create something that would impact the lives of potential members from all over the world. So I went on to work on Imongo, and I am still working on it to take the online social experience to a whole new level.
“I started work on the Imongo in May 2012, and made it public in early August, and received over 300 members in less than three months. I built the Video Chat feature using a partner called, TokBox. I had no official guide, I used my current knowledge of scripting languages and the Internet to guide me.”
A visit by our correspondent to the site shows that the network is not only a platform for making friends but one where members can also stay updated with news bordering on entertainment, where members keep up to date with latest gist, and gossips locally and internationally, and also stay entertained with music, videos, pictures and tech reviews.
The membership strength of the network currently stands at 1,258 and the site is designed such that intending members can be a part of it by joining through Facebook or by simply signing up with an e-mail address and a password.
An online forum and a blog is also embedded on the network. A check on the site shows that 30 topics ranging from religion, politics, sports and entertainement have come up for discussion on the site’s forum.
Terkura, who would be 15 on July 4, says his role model is Microsoft founder, Bill Gates, adding that he is targeting a million members on his site by 2014.
“I would like to master Java, C++, PHP and other languages that would enable me to take on future projects. I am hoping to attain one million members by 2014. And if the need for more bandwidth, storage space, and more servers to take on a huge population of members become necessary, it is possible for Imongo to purchase more,” he says.
Terkura’s 77-year-old father, Paul, told our correspondent that right from age four, his son had always insisted that he is presented with various gadgets as birthday gifts. He said at some point he was at first scared that his IT inclination could distract him from his academics.
“There was a time that I became worried and her mother and I tried to discourage him. We felt that he was spending too much time after school on the computers and gadgets that we buy for him on his birthdays.
“But, he assured us that he was taking his academics seriously and when we realised that we was not doing badly, we encouraged him and guided him to achieve his dreams in the IT world.”
Paul advises parents not to be over-protective while guiding their children in what they learn. “Once the activities they are engaged in is adding to their knowledge, I think we parents should give them a chance and encourage them,” he adds.

Seven Things Ladies Find Irresistible About Men

What Do Women Truly Look For?
While personal tastes vary considerably, there are certain things about a man that are almost guaranteed to turn a woman’s head, and ultimately her heart. The more of these traits a man possesses, the better.
Businessman
1. Confidence
This is a big one, and is present in body language, tone of voice, and in every way you interact with her. A healthy dose of confidence says you have something to be confident about; let her guess all that it entails!
2. Handiness
Men are valued more for their savvy when it comes to fixing things and it’s something women love, since this doesn’t come as easily to them. Fix her computer, leaky faucet or windshield wipers and she’ll think you a big strong man capable of making her life a little easier when she hits a snag like this in the middle of her hectic day.
3. Hygiene
Looking good and smelling good are crucial factors in the s*xual appeal of a mate (and it’s only fair to assume that if you want to attract a woman who is put together nicely that you should put some effort into it yourself). Grooming, taking the time to dress well, applying light cologne or aftershave are some of the little things, which will attract a woman on a conscious or subconscious level, so it’s worth the extra time involved.

4. Generosity
No one likes a cheap date and if you seem selfish with your money or possessions, this will not up your hotness factor, but may decrease it considerably. This is not to say that you must spoil and pamper her and break the bank doing it, but make her feel special and like she’s worth it to you to spend a little money on.
5. Positivity
Life can throw some curve balls and it’s the men that can be positive through it all who look the most attractive. It’s definitely not sexy to hear a guy whine or always go to the dark side when things don’t go as planned; it appears as a lack of strength in character.
6. Attentiveness
Pay attention to her! When she speaks, listen with interest. When you are standing next to her, touch her or show her with your body language that you are into her. The fastest way for a woman to lose interest in you is for you to be more focused on the next woman walking into the room than her.
7. Keeping in Shape
Many men can grow complacent about staying in good shape and can easily let themselves go. Exercise has to be made a priority in your schedule and while you may think she doesn’t care about it unless you were to blow up like a beached whale, trust in the fact that when you are more toned and tighter, her attraction to you will increase noticeably.

WOMAN CUTS HUSBAND’S PENIS OUT OF JEALOUSY

A woman chopped off her husband’s penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife and threw it in the garbage disposal, a court heard yesterday.
Catherine Kieu, 50, is accused of drugging her estranged husband’s tofu with sleeping pills and tying him to a bed before the attack.
Audio of the July 11, 2011, incident was captured by a voice-activated recorder Kieu had hidden in the bedroom, according to the deputy district attorney.
She is heard yelling “you deserve it” three times before the attack.
The sound of the garbage disposal unit being turned on is also heard on the recording, the deputy district attorney added.
The victim’s penis was too badly mangled to be re-attached, but he survived the attack.
The prosecution alleges that Kieu was motivated by jealousy, and that she was angry about her husband’s plans to divorce her because he was seeing his ex-girlfriend.
Kieu’s traumatic childhood in war-torn Vietnam caused mental illness that bars her from a mayhem or torture conviction, the defence said.
The court heard Kieu met the victim at a gym, and after they married he subjected her to sexual and verbal abuse and filed for divorce while they continued to live together.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.

Muslim Women Cry Out Over MEND’s Threat To Bomb All Islamic Institutions

Muslim women have cried out to Nigeria’s Federal Government to put security measures in place to protect the lives of Muslims, their properties and mosques.
A Muslim women’s group cried on Thursday, following a threat by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, to launch violent attacks against them from next month.
The Criterion, an association of Muslim women in business and different professions, said in a statement that the government must do all it can to protect Muslims, Muslim clerics and various Islamic institutions in Nigeria.
In an e-mail dated 14 April, 2013, the militant group threatened to commence the bombings of Mosques, hajj camps, Islamic institutions and Islamic clerics and large congregation of Islamic events "in defence of Christianity".
"The Criterion wonders whether MEND is acting alone in its proposed terror campaign or it is acting the script of other groups and individuals who had expressed similar anti-Islam views in the past," said Dr. Shareefah Labo-Popoola, the Criterion National President.
The group argued that most of the attacks by the dreaded Boko Haram Islamic sect were targeted at Muslims and Muslim institutions, and claimed the lives of many Muslims.
The Criterion condemned Boko Haram killings, saying that they are ‘un-Islamic.
"The violent group has distorted core Islamic concepts and are only disguising as Muslims to drum up support for their misguided conducts," the statement read.
"Islam forbids a Muslim to take another person’s life irrespective of creed or race.
Islam is a religion of peace and preaches sanctity of all human lives irrespective of their religious affiliations.
It is also written in the last message delivered by Prophet Muhammed (SAW) that the life of a Muslim is sacred to another Muslim, however, Boko Haram has repeatedly ignored these teachings by killing innocent citizens mostly Muslims in the northern part of the country," The Criterion said.
The group said it rejects any form of violence from either Boko Haram or MEND.
"Muslims just like Christians have equal rights to practice their religion as entrenched in the constitution.
No group should be allowed under any disguise to perpetrate evil.
We call on the Federal Government to employ all lawful means to stop the evil of the two groups in view of the fact that in any war or violent situation, women and children suffer most," the group urged

Tinted Glass: Obtaining Permit Is Free Of Charge – IG

The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mr Mohammed Abubakar, says that obtaining police permit for the use of vehicles with tinted glasses “is free of charge and does not attract any charge”.
Abubakar made the clarification on Friday while speaking at a meeting with Assistant Inspectors-General of Police in charge of the 12 zonal commands in Nigeria.
He said that the meeting was to review security challenges, including terrorism, kidnapping, cultism and communal clashes in parts of the country in order to strategise on how to address the challenges.

The IG said: “obtaining tinted glass permit is free of charge, there is no amount of money written there for anybody to pay. Motorists should not allow any policeman, anywhere to subject them to paying charges that are not officially, legally and legitimately stated,’’ Abubakar stated.
The  clarification of the IG comes against the backdrop of renewed clampdown on motorists driving vehicles with tinted glasses nationwide.

F.B.I. Releases Images of Two Suspects in Boston Attack

The F.B.I. today released still and video images of two suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings - including a man who was seen setting down a backpack at the site of the second blast - and appealed for the public’s help identifying the men.

One was seen placing a dark-colored backpack outside the Forum restaurant, the site of the second bombing, just minutes before the explosion, said Richard DesLauriers, the special agent in charge of the F.B.I.'s Boston field office.
“Today we are enlisting the public’s help to identify the two suspects,” Mr. DesLauriers said at a news conference on Thursday evening in Boston.
In the video, both men are carrying backpacks, and wearing baseball caps, one a dark cap and one a white cap turned backward. They are walking along Boylston Street.

The images were located as investigators spent hours since Monday afternoon’s attack poring over surveillance videos from stores near the scenes of the two deadly blasts, as well as footage take on smartphones and by television crews filming the Boston Marathon. “Within the last day or so, through that careful process, we initially developed a single person of interest,” Mr. DesLauriers said. “Not knowing if the individual was acting alone or in concert with others, we obviously worked with extreme purpose to make that determination.”
After a concerted effort, he said, investigators determined that a second suspect had been involved.
Both men appeared to be wearing dark-colored zippered-front jackets. The first, whom Mr. DesLauriers called Suspect 1, wore a dark-colored baseball cap with a white emblem on it and markings on the front, a white T-shirt and tan pants. Visible around the edges of his cap was short dark hair. The man he identified as Suspect 2 wore a white baseball cap backward, with dark-colored pants. He had slightly longer curly hair. The men appeared to be wearing hooded sweatshirts beneath the jackets.
Mr. DesLauriers did not characterize the appearance of the men or offer an opinion as to their possible ethnicity or national origin.
Mr. DesLauriers urged anyone who has seen the men, or who knows who they are, to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
