DAMN CRAZY:Man convicted of ‘sex with chicken’ in Zambia

A 27-year-old man was convicted for having sex with a chicken which later died.
The Chisamba magistrate court heard the horrible and rather sickening tale of how Goliath Nyirenda of Mubalani settlement in Chisamba, Zambia had sex with a chicken around 11pm on November 18, last year.
In Nyirenda’s defence, he said that on the fateful night around10pm, he returned from a drinking spree and was later woken up by the owner of the chicken, Gift Michelo.
He denied committing the crime but Michelo locked him in his house and went to call his neighbours before he was handed over to the police for no reason.
But in his testimony, Michelo testified that on the night of the event around 11pm he was woken up by a chicken which was making noise.
He traced the noise to Nyirenda’s house.
When he entered the house, he saw Nyirenda throw the chicken through the window in panic.
Michelo picked the chicken and realised that it was his and when he checked it, he noticed that it was soiled behind by Nyirenda.
And the arresting officer only identified as Mr Chushi told the court that he made up his mind to arrest and charge the accused after investigations.
In his ruling, magistrate Davis Tiwilili said he found the accused guilty of the offence and committed him to the High Court for sentencing where he was charged with an unnatural sex offence.
Tiwilili said the offence was a serious one which carried a maximum sentence of 15 years and fell under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Nyirenda was convicted of one count of unnatural offence contrary to Section 155b of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC), a charge he denied.

Marching towards history: Fergie's United have more points now than Shankly's Liverpool, Wenger's Invincibles and Clough's Forest... and they are on course to become the greatest EVER team

Writing in his programme notes on the eve of Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over West Brom just over two weeks ago, Sir Alex Ferguson described his current squad as 'a group as good as any I have had in my time at Old Trafford'.
Few were rushing to agree with his sentiment, given his side’s obvious defensive deficiencies and their reliance on Robin van Persie. But upon closer inspection, the statistics reveal the United manager may be leading not only one of his greatest squads but in fact one of the most relentless winning machines in the history of English football.
By beating Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday and moving on to 55 points at the top of the Premier League table, United eclipsed the highest points haul that they have recorded in the opening 22 games of a season since the introduction of the three-points-for-a-win system in 1981-82 – overtaking the previous record of 54 points secured by the same stage of the 2006-07 season.
Dominant: United are already seven points clear at the top of the Premier League
Dominant: United are already seven points clear at the top of the Premier League
The 55 points gained – with 18 victories, one draw and three defeats – overhauls many of the impressive tallies amassed by previous great United sides.
The class of 1993-94, considered by some to be Ferguson’s most polished side - with Peter Schmeichel, Steve Bruce, Gary Pallister, Roy Keane, a young Ryan Giggs and Eric Cantona providing its core - had two points less than this current batch from their opening 22 games, while Fergie’s Treble winners of 1999 were incredibly 11 points worse off at this stage of the season, with just 41 points.
If we look further back, to before the Ferguson years, it soon becomes apparent that this United crop are notching up points at a faster rate than at any other time in the club’s history. If we convert the league tables from before 1981 into the modern day three-points-for-a-win system, this United side has more points after 22 games of a season than any other since the club was renamed Manchester United (from Newton Heath) in 1902.

NB: In seasons when two points were awarded for a win points tallies have been converted into today’s equivalent
*42-game season
The Busby Babes, featuring Duncan Edwards and Dennis Viollet, had the equivalent of 49 points from the opening 22 games of their 1956 championship-winning campaign while Sir Matt Busby’s next famous side, starring the ‘Holy Trinity’ of George Best, Bobby Charlton and Denis Law, secured just 44 points from their first 22 games of the 1966-67 season – the year before they won the European Cup by defeating Benfica 4-1 at Wembley.
But it is not just the great United sides that Ferguson’s squad is seeing off in their seemingly unstoppable pursuit of a 20th Premier League title. They have equalled the points haul amassed by a Jack Walker-funded Blackburn in 1994-95 and are three points better off than the Arsenal Invincibles were at this stage of the 2003-04 season.
However, Jose Mourinho’s 2005-06 Chelsea team are the only side in the Premier League era to better the standards being set by this United team - having gained 61 points from their first 22 league games of the season
But should United continue to gather up the points at the same rate as they have done so far this season, Ferguson’s men will be on course to match the record (set by Chelsea during the 2004-05 season, when they were also on 55 points at this stage) for the most points won during a Premier League season, with a projected 95 points, and a ratio of 2.5 points per game.
When we delve further back in time it is revealed that United’s haul of 18 wins from the opening 22 games has only been matched or bettered on four occasions – by Preston in 1888-89, Sunderland in 1891-92, Tottenham in 1960-61 and Chelsea in 2005-06. Kenny Dalglish’s Liverpool only secured 17 wins from their first 22 games of the 1987-88 season, but five draws saw them on to 57, two points better off than United today.
Record-breakers: Chelsea amassed 91 points in 2005-06
Record-breakers: Chelsea amassed 91 points in 2005-06
This places this much-maligned United squad in a better position than all but one of Liverpool’s championship-winning sides, and comfortably sees off the points hauls secured after 22 games by Don Revie’s title winning teams at Leeds and Brian Clough’s league winners at Forest.

Teams to have won at least 18 of their opening 22 games of the season:

Man United2012-13181355
It seems difficult to believe that this United side is comfortably seeing off competition from some of the most celebrated sides in the history of English football.
United have already conceded 29 goals, leaving them on track to break the club’s worst defensive record in a single season in the Premier League era – the 45 goals conceded in the 1999-2000 title-winning campaign.
Class of 2000: Ferguson's sixth title was won at a canter

Doubts remain over the goalkeeping position, with David de Gea and Anders Lindegaard being rotated once again this season, while question marks hang over the defensive capabilities of full backs Rafael and Patrice Evra with Nemanja Vidic still being eased back in after long-term knee injury.
Further forward, many spectators still believe United to be short of a player with the drive and determination of a Roy Keane or Bryan Robson in the centre of midfield, while on the wing, Nani has fallen out of favour and Antonio Valencia has failed to produce anything like his best form for some time now.

Man Utd v the best teams in history (all points totals are three for a win):

TeamSeasonPoints after 22 games
Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man Utd2012-1355

Brian Clough’s Nottingham Forest1977-7849
Bill Shankly’s Liverpool1963-6447
Brian Clough’s Derby1971-7240
Injury and sluggish showings have hindered Wayne Rooney’s season this time around, with the striker having scored just eight goals, compared with the seventeen he had this time last year. Fellow England forward Danny Welbeck may have impressed with his work rate and pace against Liverpool on Sunday but he must improve on his solitary United goal so far this term.
In spite of all the frailties, there is no doubting the integral contribution being performed by Michael Carrick in midfield and Van Persie, of course, up front – while Tom Cleverley and Javier Hernandez have also been in sparkling form.
More to come: Rooney (centre) has been far from his best this season
More to come: Rooney (centre) has been far from his best this season
And whatever this United squad may lack in quality, they make up for with their strength of character and determination to win – a trait undoubtedly drilled into the squad by Ferguson. United have beaten Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea away from home and Liverpool and Arsenal at Old Trafford – edging all five games by the odd goal – demonstrating their ability to find a way to win a match.
United’s intensity will surely have been heightened after the heartbreak of losing the title to Manchester City last season – and it is a testament to Ferguson’s management that he is driving this squad to such record-breaking heights.

Mentally challenged 15-year-old ‘gang raped under her desk during class as teacher did NOTHING’

A mentally challenged 15-year-old New York girl endured a brutal gang rape as she was trapped beneath her by two boys with her teacher only feet away, alleges a lawsuit filed Friday.
The special needs student, identified only by the initials K.J., was allegedly sexually assaulted for 10 minutes as another student  ‘hit her on the head whenever she tried to escape,’ during a science class at Martin De Porres Academy in Elmont, N.Y.
The girl’s mother, who filed the suit, alleged that the teacher ignored the assault even as one student danced on the desk while another attempted to sodomize K.J.

Though the girl told a school social worker the next day, school officials failed to report the crime.
K.J. has an IQ of 60 and was sent to De Porres by city.
She was the only girl in her class of 13 boys.
Her alleged attackers all had known ‘violent propensities’ and are residents of Casa De La Salle, a home for juvenile delinquents.
K.J.’s mother said she was powerless to get her daughter transferred immediately, and as a result the girl was bullied for months.
In December, school officials put her in a room with one of the boys who had been sexually harassing her and admonished them to ‘discuss their issues.’
K.J. left that classroom with a gash over her right eye.
ReelingReeling: School officials say a full investigation is underway and the teacher involved in the incident has been fired
‘It’s mind-boggling how this could happen,’ attorney Madeline Bryer told the New York Post.
The school’s executive director Ed Dana sad an internal investigation as conducted as soon as they heard of the abuse and fired the teacher.
‘We want the community to know that we hold our teachers to a high standard. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of the children in our care,’ Dana said in a statement

Men ‘caught’ for being gay in Imo, paraded naked (GRAPHIC IMAGE)

by Isi Esene
These men were accused of “engaging in gay activities” in Ekwe, near Umuka in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to this report, they were all tied and paraded on Monday naked on the streets.
Just last week, Senate president, David Mark insisted that anyone found engaged in same-sex activities will be punished by law.
He said, “We will not compromise on this. I want to invite you all to join the crusade of decency in our society. There are many good values we can copy from other societies, but certainly not this one (same sex marriage).”
Mob justice is unacceptable under any condition, we would say. Do you support this action?

U.K Student Arrested For Over-Reading

A British high school called police to remove a star pupil who is so “obsessed” with revising that he refused to leave the library.books
Jamie Gagliardi, 18, was ejected from Ifield Community College in southern England, after refusing to leave the library. The school accused Gagliardi, who is predicted to be an A-grade student, of being “obsessed” with after-school tuition and said that it called the police because the pupil was causing a “nuisance”.
Gagliardi, who was forced to call his mother to pick him up, said: “I have been punished for wanting to do well. I am a hard-working and dedicated student, and this could have such an impact on my future.”
The student went to the library despite being banned from the premises for the day as a punishment for interrupting the school principal during a meeting – to request extra revision sessions.
Marilyn Evans, the school’s director of administration, said: “He became vociferous and irritated that he couldn’t have after-school revision.” She described Gagliardi as a “top student” who should do well in his exams, but said he had been “causing a nuisance and a disturbance on the premises.”
A police spokeswoman confirmed that officers were called to the school to remove a “disruptive” pupil who was refusing to leave the premises, but said that Gagliardi will not face any charges.

Sambo’s Aide Denies Buying Actress House, Cars

Mallam Umar Sani, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity has not only denied his alleged secret marriage to Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, but has also denied media reports that he bought her a house and chain of cars.
Sani made this clarifications in a statement signed by him today in Abuja.
According to him: “I read with dismay a report involving one actress, Nkiru Sylvanus and myself. The story catalogued my supposed relationship with the actress and that I bought her a house in Abuja and chain of cars, and also instrumental to her being appointed as SSA Lagos Liaison officer, when it was evident that she was not from Imo State but Abia.
“While I hasten not to deny that Nkiru Sylvanus is my friend, I want to clearly state that I have never bought her a house and neither have I ever bought her a car. These, obviously, are the figments of the imagination of the reporter who chose to file his report without a by-line.
“Let me state that I did not, and have never approached Rochas Okorocha either personally or by proxy to help in engaging the said Nkiru Sylvanus, as she’s no stranger to the governor whom she has worked for his success at the polls.
“We are aware of a conspiracy by entertainment journalists, especially of Imo extraction that are against her appointment to always pursue in line that will lead to her disengagement in the service of the state they claim was not hers. It should also be stressed that a governor has the right to select whoever he wishes to work with provided the person will help him achieve his objectives of service delivery to his state
“Half truths and outright lies to juxtapose fiction upon twisted facts will only help in confusing people the more rather than serve the purpose for which it was intended which is to slander the couple”, the statement concludes.

University of Ibadan VC bans students from cooking in hostels

Authorities of the fragile peace at the University of Ibadan (UI) manifested on Monday banned students from cooking in the halls of residence. The ban was placed by the institution's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Folorunso Adewole.
At the 'Town Hall' meeting held with the students at the Trenchard Hall, it was disclosed that the ban became necessary in view of the colossal amount of money being spent yearly on electricity bill. The VC said that the management spent over N400 million on maintenance of hall while it generated about N144 million from the halls last year, adding, "the university is shifting to providing essentials of studying to students rather than spending on electricity mostly used for cooking in their halls. "We will not allow the University of Ibadan to die. The problem of accommodation on UI has to do with access and cost. "The access deals with how many students that can be accommodated. With about 21,000 undergraduates, we can only accommodate 8,000 students. "In last session we spent N317million on electricity bill and power generation alone. "We have been subsidising the accommodation, but that cannot continue. The Federal Government does not send any subvention for this", Adewole stated. He maintained that no student must cook in the hall again, noting  that alternative provision had been made for light cooking in the kitchenette, where electric metre would be fixed to know the power consumed. According to him, "It is not negotiable. There shall be no cooking in the rooms, any defaulter caught will be sanctioned. "For light meals, we will reactivate the kitchenette. It is not compulsory that a student stay in the halls. "Only those who can comply with our rules will be accommodated. No kerosene stove shall be allowed in the hall of residence, if you want to use it, stay away from our halls". He alerted that there will be upward review in fees from next session based on what he called realistic data. The VC said: "We are using this year as experiment year to gather data and know the actual energy being consumed per session so as to arrive at a suitable and realistic fee to be charged. The fee might change as from next session". The policy however attracted wild condemnation from the generality of the students, who booed the VC and said he was behaving like a military Head of State with a vow to however resist the move described as draconian

Job Creation: Finance Minister Appeals to World Bank for Support

The Federal Government has appealed to the World Bank for its support in the nation’s efforts towards creating jobs for its huge unemployed population.
The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had told visiting World Bank Vice President for Africa, Mr. Makhtar Diop, at a meeting in Abuja, that the Federal Government had put in place a wide range of programmes and progjects for job creation and needed the help of the bank to maximize the impacts.
According to the minister, “Nigeria needs the support of the World Bank in sectors such as agriculture, water resources, education, infrastructure, particularly power, where it has enormous potentials.”
However, in his response, Mr. Diop said he was in Nigeria to “seek guidance in areas of support for Nigeria because Nigeria was important for Africa and whatever affects Nigeria will affect the continent.” He commended Nigeria’s macro-economic policies which enabled Nigeria to post impressive growth rates of well over 6 per cent in the last few years and a time global economic performance was negative.
The World Bank chief described Nigeria as a very important member of the organization and a significant player in the world economy and especially in the African region. Mr. Diop assured that the bank would partner with the Federal Government with a view to ensuring that Nigerians enjoyed the benefits of the country’s membership of the global body.
