AIIA-big
The Enugu state police command is still trying to unravel the mystery behind an alleged attempt by four persons to blow up the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu with explosives. The ploy was earlier today, foiled by eagle-eyed operatives of the Explosive Ordinance Department (EOD) of the Enugu State Police Command.
The suspects, whose identities had been kept secret for security reasons, were apprehended while driving to the airport at about 8.30am Thursday.
The four suspects including the driver of their vehicle with registration number KJA 359 AP, were reportedly heading towards the airport when they were stopped in their tracks by EOD operatives on routine duties.
While confirming the arrest of the suspects along with the explosives, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, said when the vehicle conveying the suspects was stopped,  upon a thorough search by the operatives, some items believed to be dangerous fireworks contained in two cartons were discovered in the vehicle.

Odemwingie may face disciplinary actions for comments on Twitter

Osaze Odemwingie recently lashed out at coach Stephen Keshi and members of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on his twitter page for not being included in the African Nations Cup squad. (If you missed it, read it HERE).

A top NFF official told reporters this week that Osaze would not be allowed to go unpunished for the comments he made on Twitter. He said the case will be referred to the federation's disciplinary committee to investigate and make recommendations to the executive committee for the next line of action. The NFF rep said they plan to make a statement with the action they will take against Osaze.

Meanwhile, Osaze has concluded and accepted that his days with Super Eagles are over
“It is clear now that my days with the Super Eagles are over as I expected to be left out of the ANC squad because we have had a few issues before. I played a very good 10 years from 2002 to 2012 but I don't want to be with a coach who doesn’t want me.I still love my country and care about the football but I already wasn't feeling the way I would have liked to feel. Last month I spoke with Keshi because I didn’t play in a few games with the national team and he said my body language didn't show that I wanted to play for the team but body language for the Nigerian coach is that you have to be calling him all the time and greeting him but for me football is an official thing,” Osaze said

Governor Fashola vows to deal with owner of stored fire crackers

Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, yesterday visited the site of the boxing day firecracker explosion that razed about 15 buildings and killed an 11 year old boy.  Fashola said he plans to punish the owner of the store on Oko Awo street where the fire crackers were stored.
“In order to make quick business, we have lost a life, we lost property and all of us are in danger. All of these items are under one form of prohibition or the other and we have men and women at our various entry and exit points. How did they get in? How did they enter? Who imported them and who cleared them? Who approved them to come in. Those are very serious issues we must also ask ourselves" Fashola said
Lagos state is one of the states that has banned the use of fire crackers

List Of Top Earning Entertainers Of 2012

With minimum earnings about N6.5M per month, and highest incomes nearing N50m per month in some cases, these fab few are raking in the big bucks, and making hundreds of their colleagues green with envy…
omotola-jalade-ekeinde-682x1024
Here’s the definitive list of those who made the biggest dough in 2012.
GENEVIEVE NNAJI: The Nollywood actress is ahead of her peers, benefiting from endless endorsements (Loya, MUD, Range Rover etc) and reaping dividends from private businesses she’s keeping off public glare. Paid a mind-boggling figure to act in the movie adaptation of Chimamanda Adichie’s ‘Half of a Yellow sun’, Ms Nnaji rarely takes up movie roles these days. When she does, it must be worth it.
D’BANJ: Gone are the days when he made N10m in a week. These days, the superstar entertainer is making more business deals than hits, and the figures are amazing, from CRBTs to distribution, content syndication, and several non-music projects. Paid between N5 and N15 for engagements, and enjoying royalty returns from here, the UK and US, the former Mo’hits front man could soon be moving from the millionaires to the billionaires’ club.
DAVIDO: The young son of billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke is making daddy proud earning his own money at the young age of 20. Davido who started out as a rookie less than two years ago now charges four to five million Naira to perform at gigs and here’s the good part, he gets to perform at least three gigs in a week. Could be up to five, in seasons such as this. 2012 incomes include the N30m deal with MTN
WIZKID: The EME pop star this year made big bucks from his endorsement deal with carbonated soft drink Pepsi. Same for his deal with Star, for the all-star song. And all through the year, he stood as one of the highest paid acts, charging between N4m and N6.5m for performances here, and usually more, for gigs in Dubai, England and elsewhere…
OMOTOLA JALADE-EKEINDE: Omosexy cashed out with her reality show ‘The Real Me’ for which she reportedly got paid a huge sum. She also featured in two big budget movies ‘Amina’ and ‘Last Flight to Abuja’.
PSQUARE: The twins probably made the most money this year jetting round Africa headlining sold out shows attended by thousands. Peter and Paul Okoye, whose billable hours attract close to double figures in the millions, also signed a distribution deal with Universal Music. With sold out gigs here and abroad, the brothers have built a wild following that makes sure promoters keep asking for them. Easily one of the highest paid Nigerian acts.
BASKETMOUTH: Bright Okpocha’s transition from mere stand-up comic to events compere and TV host has the big bucks rolling in for him. His Globacom endorsement remains intact, and he’s delved heavily into show promotions here and abroad. There’s also the successful EmBARssy Lounge on Lagos mainland.
ALI BABA: When the revered comedian isn’t cracking people up on Twitter, he’s making big bucks consulting or compering events for multinationals, government or high net worth individuals.
IYANYA: Being his most promising year so far, Iyanya made quite a fortune off his ‘Kukere’ single. Performance fees doubled, tripled then doubled again, causing him to swim in millions. Just this year, he relocated to an expensive apartment in Lekki and bought for himself a Range Rover HSE. Next year should even be better.
2FACE IDIBIA: If he didn’t make the list, wouldn’t you be scared? 2face started the year, releasing his fifth solo album and then embarked on a sponsored US tour. Charging as much as $60,000 per show, Mr. Idibia was busy all year, headlining gigs all over. Investment in real estate and hospitality (including Club Rumours, in Ikeja, Lagos) also paid off.
FUNKE AKINELDE: The actress-producer is still enjoying the success of ‘The Return of Jenifa’ from which she reportedly made over N30m. She has also been made the ambassador of Nigerian job website Jobberman, a deal worth millions of Naira. That’s in addition to the endorsement deal with Telecoms Company GLO and the Lagos Inland Revenue Service.
DON JAZZY: The MAVIN Records boss signed a deal with Samsung Africa and broke bank with the Loya Milk deal. With his eyes firmly on the prize, the gifted producer moved beyond the Mo’Hits beef to focus on pushing and monetizing MAVIN content, while expanding into fresh business areas. He’s penned a deal to produce the theme song for the Africa Cup of Nations holding in 2013… And the recently launched Pop Club is a year-end addition that’ll sure bear fruits….

THICK SMOKE RISING FROM THE PENTHOUSE OF THE OBASANJO HILLTOP RESIDENCE
A fire which reportedly started around 4:30pm Thursday, has gutted a section of the multi-million naira hilltop residence of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Although it is not yet clear what started the fire, we gathered that the ex-president’s secretary’s office, located within the expansive mansion, at Ibara GRA, was gutted.
Meanwhile, an Ogun State Fire Service truck marked OG 122 AO9 got to the scene of the fire incident an hour after it was detected and was quickly joined by another 10mins later even as men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, the Nigeria Police, State Security Service and close friends of the ex-president battled to contain the fire from spreading to other parts of the sprawling estate.

Nkiru Sylvanus: Kidnappers Threatened To Molest Me If I Failed To Pay The Ransom

Since the release of Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus, by her kidnappers, there have been stories emerging about how she was freed exactly. One thing for sure is that her release didn’t come cheap.

Check out what the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Baba Adisa Bolanta had to say:
“Initially, the family paid N7million to the kidnappers and the police who laid ambush swooped on them at the point of collection and recovered the money that was locked in the trunk of their car as they escaped… After we returned the money to the family, they went behind us and paid N8milliom to the kidnappers. Surprisingly I saw Nkiru in my office after she was released, and I was told they paid N8million to secure her release.”
The Commissioner wasn’t happy with the family of Nkiru Sylvanus as they hindered the police from doing their job. So he claims:
“According to our source, the Police boss didn’t really understand Nkiru’s situation in the hands of her abductors. They said her family was forced to defy the police and pay ransom to the kidnappers “when the issue of r*pe came in”.
The kidnappers allegedly “tampered” with Nkiru and even threatened her family that they would impregnate her if the ransom was not paid immediately. At this stage, the family of the actress was no longer sure the Police could rescue her unhurt, hence they paid N8million.
“I wouldn’t blame the family…We all know how the Nigerian Police might be at times.”

Meet The Miracle Money Prophet Who Can Make You Rich Mysteriously

Founder and Senior Pastor of Spirit Embassy Ministries, Prophet Uebert Angel has brought ‘miracle life’ in Zimbabwe to another level.
prophet-angel-handkerchief
His name has become synonymous with miracles, signs, wonders and accurate prophecies. His prophetic gifting often reveals people’s names, addresses and some pertinent information on the lives of members of the community. While prophesying, he can even tell you how old your pregnancy is, the last email you read before you came to church or your O-Level and A-level results.
Prophet Angel pulled a shocker to South African Pastors during a conference when he testified that while living in the UK, life was not as smooth as it is now. Much to the surprise of the congregation that he was preaching to, the now flamboyant prophet said the only food that was in his house when two of his church members in UK visited him was water and nothing more. He went on to reveal that his bank account had absolutely nothing, in fact there was an overdraft of 2 Pounds. The man of God was delivering his sermon titled Miracle Money.
He, however, acknowledged that pastors are very clever and can easily find ways of collecting money (offering) during a church service. Interestingly prophet Angel said despite the fact that his account had minus 2 Pounds, he preached to the ATM machine until his account miraculaously generated 2,000 Pounds which he then used to buy food for his visitors.
In October this year, Prophet Angel and his wife, Prophetess Beverly Angel traveled to Botswana, where they gave Botswana people a long-lasting taste of their ‘miracle money’. The youthful prophet took his gospel of prosperity to the University of Botswana Stadium on Friday 26 October where Miracle money miraculously appeared in the pockets of many who were present. Some miraculously or rather mysteriously received as much as 1,000 Pula in their pockets when they only had a few coins with them. Some are said to have even received airtime in their phones – at the command of Prophet Angel.
“All I had left on me when I came was less just about P6 in coins. When the man of God declared, ‘RECEIVE MIRACLE MONEY’ I checked my bag and found this P600,” she squalled heartily.
As shocking and unheard of as it was Prophet Angel instructed, “Count it again!” She complied and before she could finish counting she yanked out, “ahhhhh haha ahh, it has increased. It’s now P1,000,” said the unidentified woman.
Another man who also miraculously received money from nowehere said:
“This P20 is all I had left in my pocket, when you declared miracle money, I checked my pocket and found this twenty Pulla, I checked the other and was shocked to find P1,900. I am shocked at what God can do. Man of God I am shocked! The money just appeared from nowhere!!!”
Prophet Angel however gave a condition for him to explain where the money came from.
“Well…. only if and when you tell me where the money Jesus instructed Peter to collect from the mouth of a fish came from. Only after that will I tell you,” he said.
Innumerable testimonies of miracle money summed up to more millions of pulas right there before everyone’s eyes and money appeared in the most unusual places. Some testifying it just appeared right in the clutch of their hands, others in their bank accounts and many in topped up cellphone credit.
However, juju has also been suspected mainly by those who do not believe in today’s prophets. Their doubt is further supposrted by the incident that took place in Mabvuku when a United Family International Church (UFIC) member bought grocery with US$500 that turned into leaves.
“That money is evil. These false prophets are using the name of God to enrich themselves. How on earth could money just come from nowhere? The bible says you have to sweat for you to live, but these guys preach otherwise. Nowonder why that Mabvuku woman’s money turned into leaves. This is purely juju,” fumed a Bulawayo Methodist Church youth member, Chris Masiyiwa
