Jones feeling good

Jones is full of praise for his team-mates this term after coming back into a side that has qualified for the Champions League knock-out stages with ease and currently leads the way at the top of the Barclays Premier League.
“We’re playing well,” he declared. “We’re passing the ball well, creating chances and scoring goals and hopefully the clean sheet against West Ham will spur us on to have more of them. It’s nice for all of us to be sat in this position [top of the league and qualified for the Champions League knock-out stages] We’re in a great position in the league and we’re hoping to kick on and really push up.”

Landlord Beats Female Tenant For Bedwetting!!!

A landord has been arrested after bashing his female tenant accusing her of bed bedwetting. The alleged incident which has since become the talk of the suburb occurred on the 17th of November.
It is said that on the dramatic day, Luphahla was going about his errands when he saw a child of the tenant playing outside. The man is alleged to have slapped the three-year-old child for “acting” like her mother. The child ran into her mother’s room wailing. This is said to have prompted the woman Ntombizodwa Ncube to demand answers as to the reasons behind the thrashing of her child.
Luphahla would have none of it and told the woman off. She was not going to be pushed away easily and continued pestering the man. Purportedly infuriated by this, Luphahla who was standing outside the woman’s room forcibly went in. After a peep around the room, Luphahla spotted watery liquid on the woman’s bed.
He got closer to get a sniff and to his shock it was urine. The man went on to accuse Ncube of bedwetting. She compounded the problem by failing to defend herself.
As such, Luphahla is alleged to have dragged her outside the room labelling her a bed wetter. He then kicked her until she fell. By then a crowd made up of mostly kids had already gathered to see the bed wetter.
Taking advantage of the situation, the man went on to savagely kick the woman on the left breast. As the assault raged on, Luphahla is reported to have hit Ncube twice on the leg with a stone.
The woman was later rescued by a neighbour. Luphahla was arrested and remanded in custody to 4 December after failing to pay $100 bail which he had been granted by Western Commonage magistrate, Mr Richard Ramaboea.

PHOTO: Balotelli’s Controversial Tattoo About God!

To mark his first Barclays Premier League goal of the season, Mario Balotelli celebrated in a way only he could – by having the words of Genghis Khan inscribed on his torso.
The Manchester City striker, who has been desperately out of sorts for his club this season, will hope the new tattoo helps him rediscover his form.
‘I am the punishment of God,’ reads the artwork. ‘If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.’
Hmmmm… Strong words. What do you think??

30 Years Old NYSC Members Sentenced to 8 month Imprisonment

A Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Tuesday sentenced a member of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Ibok Benneth, to eight months imprisonment for attempting to commit internet fraud.

30-year-old Benneth who is currently undertaking his one-year mandatory service at Afikpo Local Government Council in Ebonyi State was convicted by Justice Olabisi Akinlade after he pleaded guilty to the offence on arraignment.

News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports he had entered into a plea bargain agreement with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the advice of his counsel, Mrs. I. Njoku.

NAN reports that Benneth was arraigned by the EFCC on 10 counts bordering on forgery and possession of fraudulent document. The EFCC counsel, Mrs. Atinuke Daramola said the commission had on July 2 received a petition from one Mr. Sam Ohuabunwa claiming that some unknown persons had hacked his e-mail account.

“The petitioner said the persons started requesting his mail contacts to send money into a certain Zenith Bank account no: 2080306452, on his behalf,” Daramola said.

The counsel said that investigations by EFCC operatives at the bank revealed that the account was owned by Benneth,
She said; ”This led to his arrest at his residence located at Plot 2, Pilot Crescent off Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos.

“A search was conducted in his apartment and several forged documents relating to Union Bank Plc and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) were found in his possession.

“Other correspondence via e-mail to some foreigners, where he claimed to have won a fictitious European Winning Lottery Programme, was also found in his laptop”.

Daramola said he had admitted to the EFCC operatives in a statement that he owned the Zenith Bank account and was also involved in other fraudulent activities on the internet.

She said his offences contravened Sections 6, 8 (b) and 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria

In her judgment, Akinlade said the sentence would commence from August 28 when he was arrested by the police, adding that Benneth had no justification for engaging in internet fraud, stressing that he should have thought of the consequences of his actions.

“At the age of 30, some of your age mates are married and already managers with serious responsibilities in some big companies, while you are still serving.

“Now you have been convicted, which will be reflected in your record. You should have thought of the consequences before engaging in fraudulent activities.

“You better go and change because if you go back to fraud, the EFCC will catch you again and the law will catch up with you,” Akinlade said.

The will of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, was on Friday presented to the family with his widow, Bianca, getting the lion’s share.

The presentation by the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court, Mr Dennis Ekoh, was witnessed by Bianca, Mr Val Nwosu, Ojukwu’s first cousin, and Mr Mike Ejemba.

In the will, the late Ojukwu identified one Tenny Haman as one of his children. Ojukwu listed the children as Tenny Haman, Chukwuemeka Jnr, Mmegha, Okigbo, Ebele, Chineme, Afam and Nwachukwu.

The Ikemba gave the Casabianca Lodge at No. 7, Forest Crescent, GRA, Enugu, two property at Jabi and Kuje in the FCT as well as all his money and personal effects to his widow.
He also said that Bianca should replace him as the trustee in the family company, Ojukwu Transport Ltd, while also giving her two plots of land in his village at Nnewi. He, however, added that if she re-married, the land should be taken away from her.
The first son, Emeka Jnr., got the family house at Nnewi, while the newly mentioned daughter, Tenny Haman, got the Jubilee Hotel located in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Biafran warlord also shared other landed property in the village among all his children.
Ojukwu listed the trustees and executors of the will to include Bianca, Emeka Jnr and Mr James Chukwuneme.
Reacting to the will, Bianca, who is Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, expressed satisfaction with its contents.
“It was a fair will. This time round, he did not disappoint us,’’ she said.
The ambassador, however, expressed shock at the disclosure of a new daughter in the family, whom she said had never been mentioned by her husband.

Father Jailed 7 Years For Sleeping With Daughter

An Oredo Magistrate Court in Benin yesterday sentenced a 47-year-old man, Godwin Allu, to seven years imprisonment with hard labour for having sex with his daughter.
The accused who pleaded guilty to the one-count charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 12-year-old daughter, Blessing, was said to have committed an offense punishable under Section 218 of the Criminal Code Cap. 48 Vol. II of the defunct Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976 as applicable in Edo State.
Prosecuting counsel, Miss. Loretta Asaka, told the court that on November 20, 2012, one Mrs. Verlaine Enemaku reported the case at the charge room of the Central Juvenile Welfare Centre of the Nigeria Police in Benin, after being told by the Headmistress of Obaseki Primary School, Benin, that blood stains were discovered on the victim’s uniform.
The complainant said upon interrogation, the victim told the head mistress that her father had sex with her three times on different occasions. It was gathered that the victim, who was admitted and treated at the Benin Central Hospital was later discharged and taken to an orphanage.
Delivering judgment in the case, Chief Magistrate Peter Asemota, who expressed gladness that the accused voluntarily pleaded guilty to the crime, pronounced him guilty as charged.
Asemota, who observed that cases of sexual offenses were on the increase in her jurisdiction, said it was necessary for the court to join other stakeholders in taking a serious stand against the vice.
“For this reason, the convict must be put out of circulation for sometime so that he would not be able to continue with his bestial activities,” the magistrate said.
The court thereafter sentenced the accused to seven years imprisonment with hard labour and no option of fine.

Tonto Dike – “If I keep waiting for an Igbo man, I will just end up like Genevieve Nnaji who is eternally single”

This piece was culled from an interview Tonto Dike had recently with a reporter from Punch. Excerpt from the interview:
Interviewer: We just learnt that you will be getting married soon to your new boyfriend who happens to come from Benin, Edo state. Why are so many Nollywood female starts getting snapped up by Benin or men from Edo state?
Tonto Dike: First of all, it is nobody’s business where my fiance is from. That out of the way, yes Benin men are great and very understanding. They are not sitting and judging you unlike an Igbo man that will want to be poke-nosing in everything you do. You make your money and the Edo man is not interested in your personal affairs . “If I keep waiting for an Igbo man, I will just end up like Genevieve Nnaji who is eternally single.”
Tonto dike Debunked the statement above…
In a reaction to the alleged interview, which has spread like harmmatan fire, Tonto reacted this way, “I have never and will never say anything against Genevieve. I will not even interfere in her personal issues. I did not grant such interview.”
Her publicist also denied any such statement from Tonto dike. The publicist said, “after her interview with you (NFC) last year December, Tonto dike has only granted an interview with a soft-sell magazine, which was done about three months ago.
So, I don’t know where that purported interview came from or when such was granted.”

“Referee called Mikel a Monkey”-Ramires Confesses

Ramires remains adamant that he heard Mark Clattenburg make a racist comment despite Chelsea admitting their ‘regret’ over the affair in a statement on Wednesday, according to the Times.
In a joint statement from Chelsea, the Premier League and the Professional Game Match Officials Limited – issued in the wake of talks that were revealed by Sportsmail to have taken place on Monday – the European champions conceded that their actions caused Clattenburg and his family huge distress, even though they stopped short of apologising.
But if the Brazilian still insists he heard Clattenburg call midfielder John Obi Mikel a ‘monkey’ then it raises serious questions as to whether the referee can officiate at a Chelsea match in the near future.
It has even been alleged that Ramires would refuse to shake Clattenburg’s hand should they meet again this season.
Ramires gave evidence to the FA that he heard the referee shout ‘Shut up you monkey,’ at Mikel but the governing body cleared the referee last week.
On Tuesday, Chelsea admitted it had been a mistake to rush out a press release on the night of their defeat by Manchester United when the accusation that Clattenburg had called John Mikel Obi a ‘monkey’ was so serious.
