Ritualists Disguise As Beggars At Abuja Carnival… Steal Vital Body Organs Of Victims

Are you a good samaritan who makes it a habit to give out alms to beggars whenever you sight them? You might want to apply wisdom and caution especially, as some of these ‘beggars’ are agents of evil who do not care about your good deeds.

According to a programme monitored by our correspondent on Silverbird’s Rythm 94.7FM Abuja, ritualists took advantage of the just concluded Cultural/Tourism Fiesta in Abuja Tagged, ‘Abuja Carnival 2012 – Carnival of Peace and Harmony’, to perpetrate their evil plans.
These ungodly people disguised as beggars seeking alms from unsuspecting carnival attendees, to unexplainably steal their sight and vital body organs.
One of such incidences occured last Saturday, when a woman supposedly gave alms to a beggar who approached her in the front passenger’s seat of her husband’s car, only for her to discover that she couldn’t see with her eyes anymore.
She immediately raised alarm which attracted sympathizers including policemen and together with her husband, they apprehended the said beggar. After much prodding, the beggar reportedly revealed that he was part of a larger cartel of beggars who were at the carnival with instructions to carry out ritual acts.
When asked what could be done to reinstate the woman’s sight, the beggar reportedly gave the woman back her money and asked her to rub same on her eyes and voila! Her sight was instantly restored.

Match Report: Chelsea Held By Fulham As EPL Title Boils Down To 2-Horse Race

Robin van Persie scored the fastest goal of the English Premier League season as Manchester United stayed a point clear at the top with a 1-0 win over West Ham at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The Dutch forward needed just 33 seconds to give United the lead when, after receiving the ball from Michael Carrick, his first touch eluded Winston Reid before his finish deflected off James Collins and looped over Hammers goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Van Persie’s goal was all the more extraordinary as, prior to Wednesday’s match, United had conceded the first goal 13 times already this season.
“We’ve got the three points and are still ahead in the league,” United manager Alex Ferguson told MUTV.
“It was a hard night and we played a lot of good football but we never quite finished them off. West Ham fought really hard and made it difficult for us.”
United remained just a point in front after reigning champions and local rivals Manchester City, who won 2-0 away to Wigan.
City, the only unbeaten side in the top flight, looked like they might be held to a frustrating draw before striker Mario Balotelli scored his first league goal of the season in the 69th minute.
And three minutes later England midfielder James Milner made it 2-0 with a powerful shot.
“It was important because it’s always a difficult game because they play very well,” City manager Roberto Mancini told Sky Sports
“I think Mario can do better. He scored one important goal but can continue to improve. For me, he did not play very well.”
European champions Chelsea suffered their second straight home goalless draw, under interim manager Rafael Benitez, a derby stalemate with Fulham doing little for his approval rating with the sceptical Stamford Bridge faithful.
Chelsea moved up one place to third but, more significantly, they are now seven points behind United.
“I am a little frustrated,” said Benitez. “The team is well organised and created chances against a team that works hard, so you can see us going forward, but still we have to improve.”
Van Persie’s effort trumped that in an earlier kick-off match of his former Arsenal team-mate Theo Walcott, who took a comparatively sedate 52 seconds to give the Gunners the lead at Everton.
But Everton equalised through Marouane Fellaini 20-yard strike in the 28th minute at Goodison Park.
The draw left Arsenal, searching for their first major trophy since 2005, 12 points off the lead.
Tottenham moved into fifth with a 2-1 win at home to Liverpool.
Aaron Lennon put Spurs ahead in the seventh minute at White Hart Lane after good work by Gareth Bale before the Welshman doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute with a deflected free-kick.
Bale, however, gave Liverpool hope with a 72nd minute own-goal although there was little he could do when Lennon, trying to clear Steven Gerrard’s goalbound header, smashed the ball into the winger’s face.
West Bromwich Albion kicked off in a lofty third place but soon found themselves brought back down to earth as they conceded three goals in half an hour during a 3-1 defeat at Swansea.
Michu and Wayne Routledge (twice) got on the end of Pablo Hernandez crosses before the Baggies pulled a goal back before half-time through Romelu Lukaku.
At the Britannia Stadium, Stoke came from behind to beat Newcastle 2-1.
Newcastle’s Papiss Cisse opened the scoring in the 47th minute before the hosts hit back with two goals inside the final nine minutes from Jonathan Walters and Cameron Jerome as the Magpies suffered their fourth successive league defeat.
Southampton remained in the relegation zone after a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich in referee Mark Clattenburg’s first match in charge since being cleared of racially abusing Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel.
Rickie Lambert gave the hosts the lead at St Mary’s before Saints keeper Paulo Gazzaniga somehow allowed Robert Snodgrass’s free-kick to squirm under his body as Norwich levelled.

Nigerian In UK Molests 11-Year-Old Girl For 3 Hours Inside Bush

An 18-year-old is to appear in court charged with the rapë of an 11-year-old girl who he attacked on Friday, November 23 at around 4.30pm in Enfield, north London, as she walked home from school.
She was dragged into nearby Jubilee Park and rapëd in an ordeal that police said could have lasted as long as three hours.
The girl, who was wearing her school uniform returned home at around 8pm and was taken to hospital.
She had to undergo surgery for injuries sustained in the attack.
Detective Inspector Simon Ellershaw said it was “a horrific and unusual attack of a defenceless schoolgirl”.
She had been making her way home along her usual route, one of Enfield’s busiest shortcuts, at the beginning of the Friday afternoon rush hour when she was grabbed.
Police have appealed for witnesses and Det Insp Ellershaw said: “Given the significant and unaccounted for amount of time between the incident and the victim’s arrival home, we are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen her possibly appearing confused or disheveled following her ordeal.
All calls will be treated in the utmost confidence.”
Opemipo Jaji, 18, has been charged with rape and attempted rape and will appear at Enfield Magistrates’ Court later.
Witnesses or anyone with information that could help police is asked to call the incident room on 0208 345 4326 or Crime-stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Anglican Bishop Blasted For Promoting Homosexuality, 2 School Girls Caught Practicing Lesbianism

A Bishop with a leading church has been caught up in a fix as he is being accused of promoting homosexuality at a mission boarding school.
The issue came to light after the bishop (name withheld for legal reasons), overturned the board’s decisions to expel a couple that had been caught red handed practicing lesbianism.
A source who spoke to our news crew last week alleged that the Bishop overturned the decision in a bid to save one of the students who is reported to be a child of an Anglican employee (name withheld).
“The hearing for the two students was held a few days ago and it was passed that they should write their examinations from home. But surprisingly the bishop is said to have ordered that the child of a church employee should continue with her education as a boarder,” said the source.
Reports say the other girl has been writing her final examinations coming from home as it is a decision that was passed by the school board.
“It seems the parent of the culprit connived with the bishop who later called the school giving a directive that the young girl was not supposed to write examinations from home. Right now most of the students are no longer comfortable with the young girl who is still sharing the same hostel with them,” said the source.
It is reported that the other pupils’ parents tried to negotiate with the school over the matter but their efforts proved futile.
“In other words, the bishop is actually promoting homosexuality especially to our children who are still far from writing their Ordinary and Advanced level examinations,” said the source.
When our news crew called the bishop to find out more on the allegations levelled against him, the secretary kept on saying he was out.
“The bishop is out at the moment, so please can you leave your message and I will pass it on to him,” said his secretary.

7 Foods That Can Make You Happier

Our mood can affect everything in our daily life. When we’re in a bad mood or depressed, we don’t feel like ourselves and we have a hard time concentrating or just making it through the day. When we’re happy, we feel on top of the world and ready to take on anything. The food we eat can have a great impact on our mood, and if you want to look and feel good then you need to be sure to include some of the foods that will naturally lift your spirits. Here we look at several foods that are sure to raise our spirits and make us feel happier overall.

7 Top Feel-Good Foods

    1. Milk: those foods that are rich in calcium will naturally help to boost our spirits. Those that suffer from depression are told to take a calcium and Vitamin D supplement, and the good news is that 1-2 glasses of milk a day can be a natural mood booster that can help a person to feel happier and more productive.
    2. Spinach: dark leafy greens are good for your health and a home remedy for so many ailments. So it’s really no wonder that spinach, rich in iron, is a definite if you are looking for food to make you feel happier. You can get the nutrients that you need out of this dark leafy green and lift your spirits all at the same time.
    3. Salmon: here we see the recurrence of Omega-3 fatty acids and just how much good they can do for our overall health. This time, we see that regular consumption of salmon, about 2-3 times a week, can help to make us feel happier and of course maintain good health.
    4. Whole Grain Pasta or Bread: we look to foods rich in carbohydrates as a sort of “comfort food”, but in this case they are good for us, too. If you switch out the refined and white pasta and breads with whole grain versions, you will not only be happier but you will also be doing yourself a great favor for your overall health.
    5. Sunflower Seeds: it is recommended that one should add seeds to their diet as a source of protein and fiber, but here we see just what it can do for mood. Sunflower seeds are rich in selenium, and this is one nutrient that is believed to make us instantly feel better and much happier, almost upon consumption
    6. Tofu: many people turn to tofu as it’s such a healthy meat substitute that offers high levels of protein with a lower fat and cholesterol content. This is a great idea, but it can also be looked to as a great mood lifter for the content that it brings and should be a definite in any “get happy” diet.
    7. Fortified Cereals: ensuring that you get enough folic acid into your diet is a good idea for your overall picture of health. It can also contribute greatly to being a happier person, and so we see that fortified cereals are a must to achieve this.
It’s hard enough in this fast-paced world to maintain good mood and limit stress; it’s even harder if you have your diet working against you.  With simple changes like those 7 mentioned here, your diet can be one of your best weapons not only for maintaining a healthy weight, but also for maintaining that all-important positive mood!

Incredible Photos Of Very Muscular Female Body Builders

If you were feeling rather self-conscious about carrying a little extra flab this winter, then look away now.
There’s no room for slacking in the world of female bodybuilding as the women who posed for these incredible portraits show. They have honed their physiques over years of dedication, hard work and determination. The international athletes were captured at the peak of their physical condition by acclaimed photographer and artist Martin Schoeller.
The competitive sport of female bodybuilding has origins in the bikini contests of the 1960s but the first true event was the U.S. Women’s National Physique Championship in 1978 – which judged participants solely on their muscles.

According to the National Physique Committee, an amateur organization established in 1982, there are strict rules set out for those who compete in female bodybuilding contests.
Female competitors must wear a two-piece costume when competing and although prints, fringes, lace and sparkle are all allowed, bodybuilders are restricted from hiking up the suits to better show off their physiques.
Jewellery is banned until the final stages when earrings are permitted- although decorative hair pieces are out. Glasses, props or chewing gum are also prohibited.
During competitions, bodybuilders usually carry out a routine set to music where they strike poses to best show off their muscles. Contestants, coated in generous helpings of oil, are judged on symmetry, shape, proportion, muscle tone, poise and beauty flow.

One of the biggest competitions in America is the Muscle Beach Championship bodybuilding and bikini competition at Venice Beach in Los Angeles. The next event takes place on May 28.
Organiser and promoter Joe Wheatley has said: ‘Muscle Beach Venice one of the largest amusement attractions in the Los Angeles area. The focus remains exercise and nutrition and the site continues to be the grassroots soul of bodybuilding famous throughout the world.’
The female bodybuilders were captured by acclaimed photographer Martin Schoeller, 43, who is perhaps best known for his close-up portraits of some of the world’s most recognizable faces including Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Clint Eastwood, Angelina Jolie and George Clooney.

Woman cuts off rapist’s penis, takes it to police as evidenceA 40-year-old Bangladesh woman Monju Begum put a stop to an attempted rape when she cut of the manhood of the alleged rapist and sent to police as evidence.
According to Daily Mail, the alleged rapist, Begam’s neighbour, Mozammel Haq Mazi, forced his way into her shanty and began sexually assaulting her.
Police say Begum stopped the attack by cutting off his penis, placed the evidence into a polythene bag and took it into police as proof that Mazi had attempted to rape her.
Speaking on the incident, police spokesperson Abul Khaer said ‘It is quite an unusual incident. As far as I am aware, this is the first time that a woman has brought a severed penis to the police station as evidence’.
Meanwhile, Mazi denied the allegations telling investigators that the two were having an affair.
In his version, Mazi said ‘recently she suggested that both of us can go settle down inDhaka,” said Mazi. “I refused and told her that I cannot leave my wife and children, so she took revenge on me.”
Khaer confirmed that the suspect would be arrested once he gets better.

A teenage girl of 15 years Beheaded For Refusing Marriage

A teenage girl was beheaded by a relative in northern Afghanistan after she turned down his marriage proposals, according to reports. The victim, named as Gisa, was decapitated with a knife in the Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province on Tuesday, local police said. She is believed to be around 15-years-old.
A police spokesman said two men, named as Sadeq and Massoud, had been arrested following the teenage girl’s murder.
The two men are understood to be close relatives of the victim that live in the same village. Local police sources have said the men behind the attack wanted to marry the girl, but their advances had been turned down by victim’s father.
Gisa is understood to have been attacked as she returned to her home in Kulkul village after going out to collect water from a nearby well. Her father told a local news agency he had not wanted his daughter to get married because she was too young.
Afghanistan’s Taliban regime – notorious for its oppression of women in the country – was ousted in 2001, but extreme violence against women is still rife. In 2009, the Elimination of Violence Against Woman law was introduced in Afghanistan, criminalising child marriage, forced marriage, ‘giving away’ a girl or woman to settle a dispute, among other acts of violence against the female population of the ultra-conservative Islamic nation.
But the UN has said there is a ‘long way to go’ before the rights of Afghan women are fully protected. Comprehensive official statistics on the number of incidents of violence against women in the country are difficult to establish, with the majority of cases going unreported.
However, in the year to March 2011, Afghanistan’s Independent Human Rights Commission registered over 2,000 acts of violence against women.
The NATO-led International Security and Assistance Force has given high priority to re-establishing women’s rights that were eradicated under the Taliban as part of its efforts to create a security strategy for Afghanistan.
But with the deadline for international troops to pull out of the country – scheduled for the end of 2014 – looming, activists have warned that the outlook for the female population remains bleak. Human Rights Watch has said women’s rights are increasingly at risk in the run up to the scheduled draw-down of NATO forces, with early and forced marriage, impunity for violence against women and lack of access of justice among the long list of challenges they still face.
Challenges: Afghan women have won back some basic human rights since the fall of the Taliban, but there is still a ‘long way to go’, activists say

30-Year-Old Man Threatens To Slice His Mother’s Private Parts

A Harare based violent son has been thrown behind bars for 13 months for thumping his 52-year-old mother before threatening to slice her privates.
Obert Mutekwa (30), of Kuwadzana Extension, had denied the charge of physical abuse when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Arnold Maburo but was later convicted after a full trial. The magistrate sentenced him to seven months in prison while an additional six months that had been set aside for a similar conviction were effected. The man will now languish in prison for 13 months.
State counsel Tendai Shonhayi had it that on 26 October at around 7.30am, Obert was having a misunderstanding with his sister. His mother Ever, tried to intervene and settle the matter by confronting him but he could not stomach the approach.
The State had it that before his mother could take any action, Obert quickly bashed her. It is the State’s case that he further hauled obscenities at her citing that he wanted to stab her private parts.

We Have All It Takes To Lift The Africa Cup Of Nations Title – Victor Moses

Chelsea forward, Victor Moses has sensationally declared that the Super Eagles have got all it takes to  lift the Africa Cup of Nations title in South Africa next year.
According to Moses: “I am confident we can get the job done in South Africa. This is because we have a good team with determined players who are ready to prove that it is a new dawn for the game in the country.
“Nigeria missed the last tournament in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon and there is a hunger on the part of the players to do well and appease the fans of the team.
“We have a wonderful coaching crew who know how to bring out the best in the players. They have succeeded in making sure that every player merits being on the plane to South Africa.
“Nigerians are praying and the football authorities are also working round the clock to motivate the team.
“We have a strong team and with all the preparations that will be put in place, I don’t see anything stopping us,” Moses said.
Nigeria is in Group C alongside defending champions Zambia, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia.
