From UK Prison, Ibori Takes Out Full Page Advert In Nigerian Daily To Wish DSP Alamieyeseigha Happy 60th Birthday

Former Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha yesterday clocked 60-years and his most surprising birthday felicitation, even to Nigerians should perhaps be that he received from his former colleague, former governor of Delta state, James Onanefe Ibori from behind bars in the UK.
To achieve this, Ibori took out a full page advert in a national daily – The Nation newspaper reportedly owned by former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu. The advert appeared on page 16 of the newspaper’s Saturday, 17th November, 2012 publication.
The message, a four paragraph eulogy of Alamieyeseigha, was signed “Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Former Governor of Delta State”. Ibori not only referred to the celebrant as the “Gov-General of the Ijaw Nation,” but also sympathized with  Alamieyeseigha over his ostensible persecution. He encouraged the former Bayelsa governor to seek solace in the purported confidence of Ijaw people in him, and expressed confidence that he would be vindicated in future. Ibori concluded by saying, “As you turn 60 years old, I also join them [well wishers] in praying that God will grant you many more years ahead.”

Polytechnic Graduates Lament Disparity Between HND And University Degree

The leadership of National Association of Technologists in Engineering, NATE, has appealed to the Federal Government to release the white paper on the Ernest Shonekan panel on the disparity between Higher National Diploma, HND, and university degree.
The National President of NATE, Dr. Leo Okereke, made the appeal weekend while addressing a press conference in Owerri.
“Mr. President Sir, 11 years is more than enough time for a circular to be issued in the civil service.
“We urge you to demonstrate the political will to release this long awaited circular,” Dr. Okereke pleaded.
NATE leadership expressed serious worry that products of polytechnics were known not to rise beyond level 14 in the civil service, adding that many of them had been frustrated out of service when their juniors were promoted above them on account of their HND qualification.
Dr. Okereke recalled with grief that instead of implementing the government white paper, Mr. Steve Oronsaye, who was head of service at the time, convened another meeting at the instance of National Council on Establishment.
“A communiqué was issued at the end of the parley that the Office of the Head of Service should proceed to issue implementation circular without further delay. This is where the matter has been since 2009,” Okereke lamented.

Teenage Girl Opens Up"MY Father Has Been Molesting Me since I Was 14yrs"

A brave teenage girl today told of how her father raped her in a sickening attack when she visited him for the weekend. Twisted Robert Hawksworth, 54, plied daughter Emily, then 17, with wine at his Derbyshire home before putting her to bed and then climbing in with her.
The teenager had been sexually abused by Hawksworth since the age of 14, but had remained silent until the rape last year, when she reported the crime to the police.
The 18-year-old, whose parents divorced when she was seven, has now waived her right to anonymity to bravely speak out about her ordeal to help other teenagers in similar situations.
‘When I woke up in the morning I felt sick and I felt like something had happened,’ said Emily, who was a virgin until the horrifying attack. ‘I felt violated.
‘I stayed in bed all day and on the Sunday he kept asking me to go to town with him and make me take the Pill. ‘I refused to take it because I did not want to believe what had happened.’
I was blunt with him and I didn’t want the conversation to be brought up. ‘When I went home on the Sunday night, I wasn’t going to say anything to my mum but as soon as I walked in I burst into tears.
‘She knew something had happened so I told her. She was distraught and rang the police.’
On Wednesday Hawksworth, who denied rape and sexual assault, was caged for nine years after a trial at Derby Crown Court.
Emily said she had not initially reported what had happened because she felt scared. ‘I was young at the time,’ she said. ‘I did not know how to handle it.’ Hawksworth, from Findern, Derbyshire, denied raping his daughter when he was arrested, forcing her to give evidence at his trial.
Jailing him, Judge John Burgess told Hawksworth: ‘She was visiting you as she regularly did for the weekend. ‘During the course of that Friday evening you and she were drinking both wine and cider, alcohol you provided. ‘She became very drunk and was very sick. You tended to her and she was put to bed.
‘During the night you came into her room, removed her underwear and had full sex. ‘She was a virgin until that happened. This was a gross breach of trust and the violation of a vulnerable girl.’
Hawksworth split up with Emily’s mother in 2001 after he subjected her to an ‘extremely abusive’ relationship, the court heard. Today Emily’s mother Karen Atalay, 53, described her daughter’s ordeal as ‘terrible and heart-breaking’.
She said: ‘I felt quite guilty. I felt it was my fault. ‘My marriage to him [Robert] was extremely abusive but I was too frightened to tell anybody anything. ‘I’m relieved that at last we have some justice. ‘We have all found it very hard to lead a normal life. ‘I think we have got through the worst but we are just trying to come to terms with what has happened.
‘Emily, who burnt all photographs and gifts given to her by Hawksworth, is having her surname changed by deed poll in a bid to wipe away any trace of her father.

Sir Alex Ferguson Hope C.Ronaldo Return To United

Sir Alex Ferguson admits he'd "like to think" Cristiano Ronaldo could one day return to Manchester United - but concedes any club would face a difficult task in luring the Portuguese goal machine away from Real Madrid.
The former Old Trafford star is due to fly into Manchester on Tuesday, ahead of his current club's UEFA Champions League clash with City at the Etihad Stadium. United fans still chant his name and he's likely to receive a warm welcome from any Reds he meets on the trip.
"He’s an unbelievable player," stated Sir Alex. "One of the best, no doubt about that. We have had a great pantheon of players but no question Ronaldo compares with any of them. In his last season, he made five chances every match - he's a brilliant player."
When asked if he regrets not inserting a buy-back option in Ronaldo's sale, Sir Alex laughed: "How do you know I haven't? He always wanted to play for Real, it was a boyhood dream, but I’m not saying he’ll stay there forever. He might leave, you never know."
It was suggested that the door is always open to a sensational return to United.
"I don’t think it’ll happen but I would like to think it would [be]," Sir Alex admitted. "We’d be talking incredible amounts of money now. What do you think his value would be? He’s never injured. When does he ever miss a game? Who could afford him? One of the Russian clubs could buy him but do you think he’d go to Russia? He complained about the weather here so imagine him in the middle of winter in Russia!
"I speak to Cristiano quite regularly. He’s always available to talk to, and he’s always wishing us well. I think our result is the first one he looks for, no doubt about that."

Woman Banned On Facebook For Posting A Picture Of Herself Breast Feeding Her Baby

Last week, a mother, Gina Crosley-Corcoran, who blogs at TheFeministBreeder.com, uploaded a photo of her 18-month-old nursing — but also holding a piece of bacon. Her status update:
“And now, you’ve seen everything: Jolene swiped bacon off my plate and tried to nurse and eat at the same time. When I got bit, I told her she had to choose. She chose bacon. :)”
photo
As Crosley-Corcoran says on her blog, the photo was generally well received — 1,500 people “liked” it and 40 people shared it. But one Facebook commenter didn’t find the image or caption funny and left the comment: “Those are the kids that end up growing up to be sex offenders.”
Crosley-Corcoran screenshot the comment and posted it to her own blog. The commenter reported Crosley-Corcoran to Facebook. Two days later, Facebook removed the photo for being “inappropriate,” and suspended Crosley-Corcoran from the site for three days. The blogger was outraged; she felt as though the photo did not violate Facebook’s rules at all.
In January of this year, when mother of three Emma Kwasnica found herself suspended from Facebook for posting breastfeeding images (over 200 of them, more specifically), a Facebook rep told The Huffington Post:
“We agree that breastfeeding is natural and we are very glad to know that it is important for mothers, including the many mothers who work at Facebook, to share their experience with others on the site. The vast majority of breastfeeding photos are compliant with our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities and Facebook takes no action on such content. However, photos which contain a fully exposed breast, do violate our terms and may be removed if they are reported to us.”
Kwasnica spoke with Facebook, and when she felt the issue wasn’t remedied, she organized a protest at Facebook’s headquarters. Over 60 moms and babies gathered in Menlo Park to convince Facebook employees that breastfeeding photos are not “obscene.”
So far, Crosley-Corcoran doesn’t have plans to fight Facebook offline, but she does encourage readers to take a stand on their own social networks. “Share this far and wide. Grab that picture and upload/share it to your OWN facebook [sic] page in protest… Tell facebook [sic] they’re not even following their OWN rules about breastfeeding photos,” she wrote on her blog.
UPDATE: Crosley-Corcoran’s Facebook account has been reinstated. She told The Huffington Post that she will be “flooding” the social network with as many breastfeeding photos as possible over the course of 72 hours. Her mission, as detailed on TheFeministBreeder.com, is to normalize breastfeeding on Facebook.
